Maui Oceanfront 5K Run -Walk
 

  1. Start time is 8:20 a.m.

  2. The 5K Run-Walk will start 3.1 miles  south of the finish line at Kamehameha Iki Park on Highway 30.

  3. The start line is at a wide scenic pull out we call Lone Palm Point because there is only one palm there..

  4. If you are staying in the Kaanapali area take the shuttle bus from Whalers Village to the start line.

  5. From Lahaina buses  will pick up from the Prison Street parking (near the finish)    in Lahaina stop and then drop off 5K Runners at the 5K start line. Check for shuttle times  when you pick up your race number.

  6. If you are dropping off a spouse or friend doing the 15k at their Papalaua Beach  start line you will have time to get back to the above parking areas to take the 5k shuttle bus.

  7. The course is very scenic  along the oceanfront and has several places for spectators to park, picnic, and enjoy the ocean views while waiting for you to pass.

  8. Just past 2 miles you will make a left turn onto Front Street and do the last mile along side oceanfront homes and finish north of and adjacent to 505 Front Street a block south of the Banyan Tree square.

  9. The finish line is in front of  Kamehameha Iki Park at the very south end of old Lahaina Town. This is the area where  King Kamehameha lived and played. Traditional Hawaiian Canoes are built and displayed here. Nice beach with views of Lanai and the Harbor.  see Yahoo Map

  10. Traditional Hawaiian entertainment will be awaiting you along with your finishers medals and snacks.

The Maui Oceanfront Marathon is community event benefiting local school teams, clubs,
and Maui non profit groups that help put on the Marathon.  

The Maui Oceanfront Marathon Course:
The start is just below the Wailea special event parking area on Wailea Iki Road.
The course travels down Wailea Iki Rd to Wailea Alanui Drive (Shops at Wailea and Marriott Hotel)
and then onto  South Kihei Rd at mile 1,
through oceanfront Kihei Town with a left turn onto  Highway 30 at the 11 mile mark at Ma'alaea Bay
and continues oceanfront all the way to Front Street at the South end of Old Lahaina Town.
The last mile is through oceanfront residential and ends at oceanfront Kamehameha Iki Park adjacent to 505 Front Street.
All of the course is on asphalt and the shoulder of the road. The shoulder is mostly between 4 and 6' wide.
The course has many scenic pull outs and public beaches  for family and friends to park, picnic and support your run.

A great course to qualify for Boston.
