Getting to Maui


  1. Use your time share for lodging  if you have one.

  2. Traveling on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday is usually  less expensive.

  3. The main air port is in Kahului about 24 miles from Lahaina. The airport code: OGG

  4. You will need a rental car to get around and see the sights.  

  5. The Pioneer Inn is very close to the finish line and a great place for your supporters to have breakfast or brunch when you finish.

  6. The Marriott in Wailea is on the beach and very close to the start line and has special Marathon rates.

The Maui Oceanfront Marathon is community event benefiting local school teams, clubs,
and Maui non profit groups that help put on the Marathon.  

The Maui Oceanfront Marathon Course:
The start is just below the Wailea special event parking area on Wailea Iki Road.
The course travels down Wailea Iki Rd to Wailea Alanui Drive (Shops at Wailea and Marriott Hotel)
and then onto  South Kihei Rd at mile 1,
through oceanfront Kihei Town with a left turn onto  Highway 30 at the 11 mile mark at Ma'alaea Bay
and continues oceanfront all the way to Front Street at the South end of Old Lahaina Town.
The last mile is through oceanfront residential and ends at oceanfront Kamehameha Iki Park adjacent to 505 Front Street.
All of the course is on asphalt and the shoulder of the road. The shoulder is mostly between 4 and 6' wide.
The course has many scenic pull outs and public beaches  for family and friends to park, picnic and support your run.
