Maui Oceanfront Half Marathon

  • The Maui Oceanfront Half Marathon begins in Maalaea, just east of the Maui Ocean Center and the Miniature Golf Park, at the closed-off intersection of H30 and Maalaea Rd, which leads down into the harbor.

  • After you leave Maalaea, the sunrise will be at your back the whole race. We start at first light at 6:40 AM.

  • There are three starts, 5 minutes apart, with the first start at 6:40.

  • Your race bib will have an A, B, or C printed next to the number indicating your start group.

  • The Hawaiian Blessing will be at 6:25 AM.

  • See the timeline for times and bus schedules. Turn off H30 at the 76 Gas Station, then turn right into the parking lot.

  • Grab yourself a coffee at the new Starbucks in the parking lot.

  • Parking costs $2 per hour, and our shuttle buses will take you back to Maalaea from the Launiupoko Beach Park finish line area.

  • Have your support crew meet you there with your beach chairs, towel,  and flip-flops.

  • There will be plenty of food trucks to serve your needs. Bring a credit card.

  • There will be three starts, 5 minutes apart. The first 2 miles are an out-and-back through Maalaea.

  • Dress skimpily, as it will not be cold, and we do not take race bags to the finish line.

  • The weather will be in the low 60s at the start line and 70s to 80s at the finish line at noon.

  • Finish line closes at noon.

  • 9 Aid stations along the course serving Gatorade, water, and snacks.

  • Note that we do not use paper cups. We will give you a reusable crushable cup at the start line.

  • You will carry and use this cup the whole race. If you don't want the cup, bring your own bottle or a camelback, or practice drinking from your cupped hands.

The Finish Line is at Launiupoko Beach area and the 5K start.

1. At the traffic light, turn downhill (west) on Kai Hele Ku Street to Launiupoko Beach Park

2. Turn left into the parking lot near the bottom of the hill.

3. If the parking lot is full, turn right at the bottom of the hill and park along either side of the highway.

The Half Marathon starts at Maalaea on Maalaea Road behind the Union Gas Station & Carls Jr

1. Turn at the light at the Union Gas Station which is Kapoli St.

2. Turn right into the parking lot. It's $2/ hour , or free for Hawaii residents.

3. The start line is just down the hill to your left. Look for the flood light.

4. Post race you can be picked up by your loved ones from Launiupoko Beach or take the free shuttle bus back.

  The 6-Miler starts outside Ukumehene Beach Park.

 

1. No parking is allowed in this small parking lot for the race.

2. Have a loved one drop you off and then proceed north to watch you run and take photos.

3. Parking is available along the road north and south, with a walk to the start line area at Ukumeheme Park. Don't park in the sand unless you have four-wheel drive or a Tow Truck.

4. At the Launiupoko Finish line, have your waiting loved one take you home.

5. Or catch the shuttle bus to Maalaea and ask the bus driver to stop at Ukumeheme Beach Park.
